NABERS Energy provides an independent assessment of the building’s energy efficiency and allows you to benchmark the performance of your building against your peers. NABERS ratings can be used to measure and manage the ongoing performance of a building, to indentify opportunities for upgrades and to promote good environmental performance.
NABERS ratings are available for the base building, tenancy or the whole building and may be instigated by the building owner or tenant.
Not all Lighting is to Standard
Whilst newly constructed and modern buildings feature energy efficient lighting solutions, the same cannot be said about existing buildings and their lighting. It may surprise you to learn that most lighting found in existing office buildings, fails to meet both the current Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Lighting Design Standards set out in AS1680.
With lighting accounting for upwards of 30% of the total energy used in buildings, this represents a significant cost to the building’s owner and tenants. This lighting is energy inefficient, costly to run and in the majority of cases the lighting power density exceeds the current BCA requirement of 10W/m2 by a substantial amount. Besides, high energy use, poor lighting design results in over and uneven illumination which contributes to occupational health and safety problems in the workplace.

Install More Efficient Lighting
Fit new or upgrade your existing lighting with KW/2 specular reflectors, energy efficient lamps and electronic ballasts to save energy, reduce energy consumption and reduce maintenance costs. -
Reduce the Number of Light Fittings
A tremendous advantage of KW/2 specular reflectors is that the number of lamps may be reduced overall. Twin and triple luminaries are upgraded to single or twin fittings, and in certain cases light fittings may be removed altogether. Energy savings upwards of 60% can be realised. -
Reduce the Time Interval that Lighting is On
The use of simple switching, timers, occupancy sensors and daylight dimming systems all reduce the amount of time that lights are kept on, with energy and cost savings as the result. Lighting control systems provide additional energy savings upwards of 30%.
