KW/2 offers advanced reflector technology manufactured from sheet aluminium substrate, with a layer of pure silver metal deposited on top and finished with an optically clear protective surface. Silver has a much higher reflectivity than either white painted or aluminium surfaces, resulting in superior luminaire efficiency, producing a better quality light output.
Spectacular Specularity
KW/2 also exhibits a high level of specularity, a term used to describe the quality of the reflective surface. KW/2 features a transmission reflectance of 97% this means that light is directed downwards, where it is most needed.
The KW/2 surface is designed to absorb ultra violet light produced by the fluorescent tubes with no effect on the performance or degradation of the reflector material. The material has a proven track record with over two decades of use in the space program. KW/2’s unique finish is resilient and robust and it won’t peel or delaminate. It is also easy to clean and maintain and does not attract dust. In addition the KW/2 surface is chemically treated for superior corrosion resistance making it suitable for coastal cities applications.
